Whitchurch Walking for Health scheme was launched way back in July 2004. The "Walking for Health" initiative aims to get more people walking in their own communities and has been described by health experts as "almost perfect exercise". A programme of regular 45min walks on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month and longer walks of 1.5hrs on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday. All ages and abilities are welcome. Walking in a group is a great way to start walking and to stay motivated. You’ll make friends and discover new places to walk in your neighbourhood as well as improving your health and fitness. All walks are risk assessed and lead by trained volunteer walk leaders. Walks are free and all you will need is a comfortable pair of shoes. You will be asked to complete a short Health Questionnaire. No need to book – just turn up. For further details contact Linda or Penny on 01948 666612. Consider becoming a volunteer walk leader, free training given, expenses paid.
